Q: May we meet you?
A: My name is DIANE ONUNKWO, popularly known as Diane Splash. I am an African Contemporary Gospel singer and I hail from Anambra state, Nigeria.

So how did you get into music?
A: I started singing as a child in my church, sometimes I would gather my peers to sing together back then and I still sing to date.
Q: Wow amazing.
So you are a church girl, right?
A: Yeah.
Q: Wonderful.
So what’s your genre of music?
A: African contemporary gospel.
Q: Interesting.
So when did your career officially start?
A: My career began a long ago but I guess it kind of started officially when I got into live streaming and I’ve prepared some songs to be released soon, one of them is PROMISE KEEPER.
Q: Oh kudos.
What year did you start live streaming?
A: The year 2020 during Covid 19.
Q: Astonishing.
So were you able to spread your message and music to people during the lockdown?
A: Sure.

Can you share some testimonies of your fans?
A: Well some people shared their testimonies about how my songs impacted their lives positively but I don’t wanna mention their names or stories here in respect to their wishes of anonymity. They are in fact, the ones encouraging me to do more great songs.

So how would you describe your journey so far in the Gospel music scene?
A: I must confess it has not been easy but God is faithful, sometimes I have sleepless nights in the studio to bring out the best in me. But we move regardless.

So do you enjoy the support of your family concerning your career?
A: Yes oh, like after God na them. Do I talk about their incessant prayers, advice, words of encouragement, and financial support, my dear God packaged them, specially for me to make this journey smooth and successful.

So what plans do you have for your career?
A: By the grace of God Almighty the sky will be my starting point like I will go higher than the eagle. As I said earlier, I will be releasing a song soonest and it will be back-to-back.

So what do you think of the Gospel music industry?
A: I can’t say anything about the industry now cos am just getting started but I pray it will be good and favourable.
Q: Alright.
So do you do other things apart from music?
A: Yeah I am also an actress and a movie producer.
Q: Oh interesting.
Can you talk about your exploits in the movie industry?
A: One needs patience, tolerance and consistency in filmmaking, the industry is good all you need is to know who you are, and what you stand for and be at your very best.
Q: Okay good.
So how many movies have you worked on?
A: I can’t give counts cos sometimes a producer or director may call you for a job without you knowing the name of the movie, some do give the name or later change it during editing so I don’t know how many in particular.

What about the number of movies you have produced?
A: Sorry but I don’t wanna give the count of my work cos some are still in production.

So what advice do you have for other upcoming gospel singers and actors?
A: Don’t ever give up, remember God has not given you the spirit of fear but of boldness, don’t say I can’t do it, there’s no perfect person out there, falling at some point is ok but not being able to rise again is a big no, keep striving and believe in your self, trust me God will perfect it all.
