Augustine Miles Kelechi is a Nigerian singer, Song Writer and Music producer popularly known as Tekno and fondly called “Golden Boy of Africa” by fans and music lovers across Nigeria, Africa and the world as a whole. He gained attention with the release of the single “Holiday” featuring Davido under his first label K Money Entertainment back in 2011. Is Tekno’s Debut Album Overrated or Underrated ?
In 2013, he signed a deal with the Uni Franklin led “Made Men Music Group” and released singles like the Club anthem “Dance” produced by E-Kelly and ” Anything” produced by Sarz.

Since that year, Tekno has ensured he produced and released massive hits consistently. The artiste has released hit songs like “Duro”, ” Wash”, “Pana”, “Where”, “Yawa”, “Samantha”, “Go”, “Be” and “Only You”. He has also scored major collaborations like “Mama” featuring Wizkid, Co-writing and producing Davido’s “IF” and Swae Lee “Won’t Be late” feat Drake, Beyonce LION King, “Don’t Jealous me” among other numerous hit songs.
After almost 7 years in the industry which witnessed his exit from the Made Men Group, the birth of his daughter with fellow singer Lola Rae, incorporating his own label called “The Cartel” and signing a deal with Universal Music and battling a serious challenge in his career when he fell sick and lost his voice, Tekno finally dropped his debut album “Old Romance” on the 10th of December, 2020.
The album theme is centered around the facets of love and follows the journey of two lovers in the typical African setting, a story which Tekno carefully interpretes throughout the album. The 14 tracks album boasts of production from top producers like Selebobo, Spax, Killer tunes and Masterkraft.
However, it seems despite the hype and expectations of fans for the album and the quality production and songs contained on the project, the project has not really been making waves. For an artiste of Tekno’s calibre , it seems the PR for the album is not top notch and most of the songs have not infiltrated the mainstream market since the release of the project.
A lot of fans seem not to even know the Artiste dropped a project of recent and this generated the question; Is Tekno Debut Album Overrated or Underrated?
