May was a very busy month for Nigerian artistes as several artistes like Davido, Brymo and Burna released their projects including Victony. There was also unexpected collaborations like ‘Buga‘ by Kizz Daniel and Tekno and Chris Brown on Lojay & Sarz’s remix of ‘Monalisa.’

1. Kizz Daniel Ft Tekno – BUGA
Kizz Daniel and Tekno released the biggest record in May with ‘Buga,’ with Reward Beatz being the producer. The song was released on May 3, 2022.
On YouTube, the lyrics video has recorded over 8 million views.

2. SPINALL- Palazzo Ft Asake
Asake is this year’s biggest breakout star. From ‘Omo Ope‘ which he featured the YBNL boss, Olamide and ‘Sungba‘ from his EP Ololade Asake EP to the Sungba Remix with Burna Boy, with all songs dominating top charts. Another big one that dropped in May 2022 is ‘Palazzo’ by SPINALL & Asake. Magicsticks and SPINALL produced it and it was released on May 13, 2022.

3. Burna Boy – Last Last
Following the breakup between Burna and Stefflon Don, Burna Boy releases ‘Last Last’ which was about his broken relationship with Stefflon Don. The official video for the song was directed by Burna Boy and it has received over 6 million views on YouTube and the music audio was produced by Chopstix, Mds, Off & Out, and Ruuben.

4. Mavins- Overdose ft Crayon, Ladipoe, Magixx, Ayra starr and Boy Spyce
Don Jazzy, one of the best music producer, release a new Mavins’ single titled ‘Overdose.’ Boy Spyce who is a new addition in the Mavins record, joins Magixx, Ayra Starr, and Ladipoe on a the song. Crayon was in charge of the chorus thereby becoming the only artist on the record who has previously appeared on a Mavin Records all star song.
The song’Overdose,’ has over 2.8 million views on YouTube.

5. Stand Strong – Davido ft. The Samples
Davido released ‘Stand Strong,’ a sweet melody featuring great voices of the Sunday Service Choir (The Samples). In the new song, the Davido shares about encouraging the world to persevere and not give up despite life’s challenges.
The song which was produced by Pheelz has gained almost two million views on Youtube.
